Any bands or musicians out there that aren't complete egotistical cunt faces? Does everyone have a pre-calculated image, sound, and all that shit?
Maybe if we removed commerce from music then that would remove marketing from music, possibly allowing people to pull their heads out of their asses and just be genuine.
I'm not jaded, I promise. I just seriously, legitimately want to see honesty in this lo-fi resurgence. It's there in small pockets, but with an aesthetic like "lo-fi", sincerity is supposedly the key element, but this seems to have been completely lost and covered in shit (exactly like majority of the music it's produced in the last couple of years.)
I just want to encourage anyone out there who sees countless bands who sound the same, look the same, and show nothing but apathy to the world to NOT TAKE THAT SHIT SERIOUSLY.
If you want to start your own band or you want to make music, then do whatever you have to do so. But DON'T look at these people for ideas because you're just gonna get misled and lost in a forest of wanky vocal effects.
Whatever, I'm just whining at this point. Maybe you'll get something out of my complaining, yeah?

Instead I'm sure you'd rather go pose next to a white wall in your Space Jam t-shirt and foppy Echo and the Bunnymen haircut while your gay brother takes pictures of you with his Holga so Pitchfork will have a picture to use when they compare you to Lil Wayne or Jesus and Mary Chain or whatever the fuck is cool again today.
