the persians - when you said let's get married

This is a forgotten gritty Philly Doo Wop gem.

supernaut - lick my lolly

Obscure '70s Glam from Australia.

Pretty kick ass.

blanche blanche blanche

This video/song is fucking weird.

Keep sending me weird shit, I enjoy it.

tao of the dead

I'm a fan of 'TRAIL OF DEAD and have been since "SOURCE TAGS AND CODES" came out when I was in high school. And for the most part, their albums are usually pretty solid or if anything, at least what we've come to expect from the band.

Their new effort, "TAO OF THE DEAD", however, is FUCKING TERRIBLE.

As a musician, I know it's not cool to slam other bands' output. It's a really dick move, because I would hate to hear someone call my records "fucking terrible" but this album is just so bad I can't help it. I've desperately tried to listen to it hoping it will redeem itself, but it can't.

It's like 'TRAIL OF DEAD is trying to make themselves more accessible to the Arcade Fire crowd or something.

Terrible. Give it a listen online somewhere and make up your mind, but I just wanted to warn you all.

the creatures - wild thing

This is a really out there sparse cover of THE TROGG'S "Wild Thing" done by THE CREATURES (Siouxsie Sioux and her husband) and as Miley Cyrus would say, it's "pretty cool".

bad indians pt. 2

I know I just did a post on BAD INDIANS, but after sending them a link to said post they sent this bad boy my way.

Seriously, these kids are on it. They know what they're doing and if I were you I'd keep an eye on them.

Listen to their latest album "SOUNDS FROM THE BIG ROOM" over at their Bandcamp.

bad indians

This release came to me a while back and I've been playing it a lot, but it hit me at the peak of my "can't take it anymore" blog freak out, so whatever.

Mega lazy awesome sounding garage rock. Not sure where these dudes are from, but seriously, download this album. If you're into the whole slinky rock n' roll thing of 20__ then this is crucial for yuhh.

taxrat

If you send me music and I decide to post it but can't find an image to post with it, I go and find something. This is what you get. A giant fucking rat man. Deal with it.

Anyways, TAXRAT is a group of kids/men/trannies (I have no clue, the e-mail didn't specify) playing give no shit swaggery garage rock n' roll.

I like that kind of stuff.

Go check them out.

matt longo

The album artwork is terrible and at first dissuaded me from even listening. A note to anyone sending music in, album art is a big deal to me. I'm old, get with the fucking program.

Anyways, I dared to give it a shot despite the Photoshop massacre and I'm glad I did.

I'm tempted to call MATT LONGO'S "Alexandria" Elliott Smith for Ivy League socialites. Classy, laid back tunes. Kind of like a folk rocky Vampy Weekend.

Am I making sense?

Remember, I don't give a shit anymore, so if you want to make up your own mind, go listen to the kid's Bandcamp page.

fever

FEVER is the kind of band you want to put on when you're contemplating a slow, deliberately painful murder.

Dark as a fucking dungeon, but delicate enough to allow thought to shine through.

Elements of the Sixties are mixed in with an almost metal-esque drone. Think the Melvins covering the Velvets.

If you can't get a good idea from that description, I highly suggest you go listen to their demo. It's a slow burner, but if you're feeling evil or violent, it will get you through the day.

sans aids

SANS AIDS plays a familiar brand of dark, reverb tinged "indie" rock, in the vein of bands like Interpol.

Unlike Interpol, however, SANS AIDS carries an organic sound with more natural sinister vibes floating through out their 6 song cassette.

Grab a copy of "LOANERS" from the bands Bancamp page.

service:fair

SERVICE:FAIR is a group out of Edmonton, Alberta bringing the 90's pop vibes.

If you're into bands like YUCK then you'll love these kids for sure.

The 7 song "It Ended Badly" is a great listen from beginning to end.

Give it your ears at their Bandcamp.

This is the latest from SHANNON AND THE CLAMS from their upcoming album of the same name.

Stoked for this album. Played with the Clams last year and they killed it.

Keep an eye out, the album drops on APRIL 5TH.
